Queensgate and North Westgate: £300million
£350million joint shopping centre [H4 on map]
South Bank: £150million
£150million development: hot list area for developers [J4+5 on map]:
- Conference/banquet hotel
- 500 homes, offices and work space
- A riverside square for leisure and cultural facilities.
Heart of the city and Bridge Street:
A focus for visitors and residents [I4 on map]:
- Bridge Street's role as a fine tree-lined route linking the heart of the city and the riverside is a central feature of the new plan.
- Amenities, activities and speciality shops, bars and cafes.
Station Quarter: £500million:
- 100,000 sq m of offices
- 1,200 homes, 4,000 car park spaces
- 5,000 jobs. [H2 on map]
Rivergate:
- New theatre, gallery, homes, workspaces and leisure and cultural attractions
- Retail development that will make a much fuller contribution to the city centre than at present [J4 on map].
Marina and Embankment:
- A sports village for the Embankment
- The development of a marina on the East Embankment combined with new homes, commercial properties and parkland [J5+6 on map].
Peterborough Residential:
- The Hampton township on Peterborough's southern perimeter, which will eventually have 7,300 homes
- A large-scale residential scheme for 900 homes is well advanced at the former British Sugar factory site off Oundle Road in Woodston
- Other major housing developments are earmarked for Potters Way (530 homes), Paston Reserve (1,200 homes) and South Stanground (1,500 homes).
Commercial and other Developments:
- A mixed-use development in Old Town/Priestgate that will provide small offices, homes and restaurants
- A civic suite for Northminster which will integrate new homes, offices and retail development.
- An innovation centre that will offer an 'incubator' environment for up to 90 innovative businesses.
- New office developments have been constructed or are underway at Cygnet Park, Hampton, Thorpe Wood and Tyndall Court, Werrington.
Peterborough District Hospital: £300million
Local Transport: £180million.
End Result:
18,000 new jobs and 22,000 new homes in the next 15 years!
